Transferring a domain from one company to another traditionally involves the use of a unique authorization code, which different registrar companies call an EPP authorization code, a domain name password or an AuthInfo code. This code can be used as a safety mechanism against unsanctioned transfers with all generic and with most country-code extensions. It can be obtained only by the owner of the specific domain and is issued by the present registrar company. It must be given to the new registrar company because the transfer procedure cannot be initiated without it. The code is case-sensitive and often comprises of digits and special symbols, so as to obstruct unauthorized persons from breaking it. Certain registrars even change the codes of domains registered through them after a particular amount of time for even better safety.

EPP Transfer Protection in Web Hosting

In case you have a Linux web hosting, you have registered a domain name with us and you would like to transfer it, you can obtain its EPP authentication code with less than a couple of clicks of the mouse. When you sign in to your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and visit the Registered Domains section, you’ll see all the domain names that you have registered with us shown in alphabetical order. On the right-hand side of each domain, you’ll notice a mini EPP icon for all domain extensions that need a code in order to be transferred between companies. Clicking the icon will send the code to the domain name owner’s email immediately. In the same section you can also see and eventually update the email address, if the one there isn’t valid anymore.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you decide to transfer any domain that is registered under a semi-dedicated server account to another domain name registrar, you can get its EPP transfer authorization code with several mouse clicks from the Hepsia Control Panel. All registered domains will be listed in a separate Control Panel section. Quick-access controls will permit you to use separate features. To obtain the EPP transfer code, you only have to click on the EPP symbol, which will be to the right of any domain name whose TLD extension supports transfers with a transfer authorization code. Our system will send the code to the domain name owner’s email address, which is presently listed in the domain name’s WHOIS record. If you want, you can change this email from the very same section of the Control Panel before requesting the transfer code. The change will propagate instantaneously, so you will not have to wait for the new email to show up on WHOIS web sites.
